How to work with SPI on arduino and the STP16CP05 LED driver
« on: January 22, 2019, 09:25:36 pm »
Hi,

im trying to get this https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stp16cp05.pdf LED driver to work with Arduino.
I've read about SPI but I don't understand it yet.

I hooked up the LED driver to the Arduino Nano like this:

1-GND -> GND
24-VDD -> +5V
2-SDI  ->  D11(MOSI)
3-CLK -> D13(SCK)
4-LE/DM1 -> D8
23-R-EXT -> 1K resistor -> GND
22-SDO -> not connected
21-OE/DM2 -> D10(PWM)

I also put 16 LEDs anode to +5V and cathode to OUT0-OUT15

Is this is the correct hookup?
Can anyone please help me with Arduino code for blinking these LEDs?

Thanks.
