HP 8563A options 026 and/or H36

I'm in the market for a good used one 8563A capable of working up to 26.5 Ghz, and I came across some with the two option in the subject which seem to be similar and rather confusing to me.

On a well known site selling refurbished material the explanation is :

H36 : up to 26.5 GHz
026 : extended frequency coverage to 26.5GHz

There are some unit listed that even have both present at the same time..!!

Can someone shed some light on the matter ?

For what its worth you may experiment with your unit by adding one or the other ... You can add options to your spectrum by simply hacking in the U506 eprom adding the options according to this topic.

I've done it with a 22GHz model to "upgrade" it to 26.5 GHz by adding the 026 options and it is working pretty well after a calibration and some Yig and YTF adjustment.
