I may have found a legit need for a .."batteriser"

That's probably the whole point. OTOH most of these mice works precise enough to no noticeably difference once in operation. Maybe there are high noise environments in which more packets would result in better performance or such, but after all most is imho marketing wank and you pay for the looks and brand.
However, as others already pointed out, the power supplies in these devices are either smart enough and already contain a boost converter and have a rechargeable battery-friendly cut-off voltage, so adding another boost converter in line is not beneficial, or can not be run with rechargeables. You sooner or later have to change batteries with these wireless mice, so i don't think it might be a game changer, especially if it limits you to non-rechargeable types and takes a toll when used with fully charged batteries.
