Looking for a better SMD USB Micro connector
« on: July 01, 2019, 03:47:44 pm »
Been using the Amphenol 10103592-0001LF for a while and it has been nothing but trouble.

Looking for something a bit better.

Issues with the Amphenol part come down to the pins being under the housing making rework a pain.
The USB connection inside being crap sometimes resulting in having to force pressure with the cable to get it to work.

I like Wurth Elektronik stuff. More expensive but I found their parts to be a great quality.

Any other recommendations?
Need stock in UK ideally. RS is the best distributor for me.

Thank you
Jack

If your a company you can buy direct from Wurth, which is a fraction of the price of that shown in RS / Farnell etc.  Down side is you pay for shipping, so I try to bunch up items to put in an order that mitigates this.

They will send you samples FOC though, and they have decent CAD libraries for their stuff too.

Last time I bought from them it was for 1000 of a component.
I don't think I am going to meet MOQ for these. Only looking for upwards of 100.

I think the minimum value is £50.

Depending on your timescales I can check if I'm close to an order, your welcome to piggy back on that.

Sent my rep an email to see MOQ.

Thanks for offer though. Might take it up if they end up being a lot cheaper.
