Title: Identify this Chip
Post by: psteichen on September 29, 2017, 08:02:17 pm
I found this in my parts bin. Can't remember what I took it out of, and now I don't know what it is. Can't find a datasheet based on the numbers either. Anybody know? An optical mouse?

That's odd. I couldn't see the images, until I copied any pasted the links and opened them in new tabs. I thought they were broken.

It looks like some kind of EPROM. Does the plastic bit on the front, surrounding the window, easily come off?

Yes, it is glued in place, but I can peak under it. Just bonding wires running from the pins to the reflective part visible in the photo.

An optical mouse?
Good guess. Although I don't remember taking one apart. Certainly possible though.

Old webcam? Looks too fine for a mouse.

Way overkill for a mouse. I'd say an image sensor. From a mobile phone, perhaps? Or a camera?

Possible. It really does look like an image sensor of some sort. This is a picture I found online. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170929/154343501b40aff9276679b4e268b015.jpg)

Would be great to find a datasheet to figure out how to use it. It says Japan on a side not visible in the photos, but that's the last text anywhere.
