Anyone know what this is?  Feel silly not being able to figure it out...



Not a 871A fuse?

I googled "871A" and came up with various sensors made by Allen-Bradley / Rockwell

Maybe something to do with that?

Part of Carrier Bryant Furnace 58sx120-lg-1 3 Wire Gas Pilot Burner & IGNITOR 871A, so Capt B. is right  8)

The previous replies are correct that it is the igniter electrode for a gas furnace.  The end of the bent wire is where the spark jumps to a grounded metal part to ignite the gas from the pilot. Here is a stock photo of a similar assembly.

Wow!  Thanks... now that I look at it closer the wire does say 25KVDC in really small print that I missed seeing!

I thought I salvaged it from a big UPS power supply so I wasn't even thinking electric igniter.
