Installing QSpectrum Analyzer & SoapySDR on Ubuntu
« on: March 08, 2024, 04:06:49 pm »
I tried installing QSpectrum analyzer ond SoapySDR on windows but I came to know that QSpectrum Analyzer has issue running on windows with HackRF One

I download and installed Ubuntu, but found that there is not one package (or one set of instructions) to install SoapySDR which is dependency for QSpectrum Analyzer, below are the links to their main repository and instructions that look outdated.

https://github.com/xmikos/qspectrumanalyzer

https://github.com/pothosware/SoapySDR/wiki

I was lost looking at installation instructions related to SoapySDR there are lots of dependencies, when i run commands from instruction page I came to know that those packages do not exist anymore etc.

I wanted to know if someone has setup SoapySDR and QSpectrum Analyzer can you please provide help or some sources (website page) to setup it on Ubuntu or Windows.

I am running soapysdr on Ubuntu 22.04

Following packages are installed:
Code: [Select]
ii  libsoapysdr0.8:amd64                          0.8.1-2build1                               amd64        software defined radio interface library
ii  soapysdr-tools                                0.8.1-2build1                               amd64        software defined radio interface library tools
ii  soapysdr0.8-module-airspy:amd64               0.2.0-3                                     amd64        Airspy device support for SoapySDR
ii  soapysdr0.8-module-bladerf:amd64              0.4.1-4                                     amd64        bladeRF device support for SoapySDR
ii  soapysdr0.8-module-hackrf:amd64               0.3.3-5                                     amd64        HackRF device support for SoapySDR
ii  soapysdr0.8-module-redpitaya:amd64            0.1.1-4                                     amd64        RedPitaya device support for SoapySDR
ii  soapysdr0.8-module-remote:amd64               0.5.2-3                                     amd64        Use SoapySDR devices over network (client module)
ii  soapysdr0.8-module-rtlsdr:amd64               0.3.2-1                                     amd64        RTL-SDR device support for SoapySDR
ii  soapysdr0.8-module-uhd:amd64                  0.4.1-3build1                               amd64        UHD device support for SoapySDR

I think following commands should install it:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install l
sudo apt-get install libsoapysdr-0.8
sudo apt-get install soapydr-tools
Maybe you should install -dev and -doc too:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install libsoapysdr-dev
sudo apt-get install libsoapysdr-doc
I have no idea about QSpectrum analyzer.
