Interesting circuits for Oscilloscopes
« on: August 31, 2015, 06:15:38 pm »
Hey everyone,

I just treated myself with a DS1054Z and have been fiddling around with it. Now my question is if there are any suggestions for fun/easy circuits that can be thrown together with some basic components that are nice to look at/mess with on an DSO and get to know all the functions (I got a good garden variaty of resistors, capacitors, diodes, mosfets, npn's, pnp's and some ic's like lm358, tl071, mc34063 etc..).   :bullshit: Its just more fun than reading the manual and forget everything again before actually needing it in a debugging situation. ;)

I did charge/discharge a capacitor & tried to throw together a Wien bridge oscillator to generate a sine-wave using the lm358 but could not get it to work as of now..

I'm happy about all kinds of suggestions and if a similar topic exists, I apologize but I did not find anything specific..

Thanks in advance!

There are several described in videos on my youtube channel:

Sawtooth Generator with current sources, diode switches and hysteresis comparator

Control an RC servo with an analog voltage

Flexible Ramp Generator using 555

Simple 3 transistor oscillator, sawtooth generator

Crystal oscillator / crystal tester

Varactor diode oscillator

Wow, I don't remember every seeing Flexible Ramp Generator using 555. That looks quite useful.
