Title: Interference in hearing protection radio from dust extractor/fluorescent lights?
Post by: Niels JL on August 17, 2018, 06:49:41 am
Hi,
I have a set of Peltor hearing protection buffs with a built-in FM radio: http://peltorcomms.3m.com/world/Product.asp?PageNumber=937&Product_Id=251&ProductCategory_Id=43 (http://peltorcomms.3m.com/world/Product.asp?PageNumber=937&Product_Id=251&ProductCategory_Id=43)

When using a Festool CT 22 E dust extractor or fluorescent work lights - both connected to 240V mains *with* ground, I get a lot of interference when listening to the radio in the Peltors.

I thought this might be a possible project for me, although I'm a beginner in the art of electronics - so maybe not :-)

I've searched for possible solutions using Google, but found nothing much apart from "why the vacuum cleaner in the old days caused interference in the TV" type of answers.

Is it possible to add something to the circuitry of the Peltors that could remove this interference?

Cheers,
Niels
