handskit solder station t-12 wiring diagram
« on: June 14, 2023, 07:44:12 pm »
Hello everyone, by recommendation of the user DeividAlfa I created this entry, I have a handskit pcb of a t-12 soldering station, which I have loaded the Deivid custom firmware, but I can't find the configuration for the pencil wiring welding, the original has 4 cables and does not have a thermocouple in the handle, and the pcb has 5 pins, but I cannot get the connection right, would someone be so kind as to help me? It is to connect a t-12 handle that I know some users They have it, please help.

These units rely on a thermal couple in the handle as a sense to regulate the temperature . It tell the unit when the element needs to be on or off depending on the temperature setting. The driver unit will do nothing without it. The motion switch in the handle for these types only needs to deliver a single pulse to pull the unit out of standby. So for this unit to work you need a 5 pin pencil iron.

It will work without temperature sensor, using the stm32 built-in, but it seems there's a small smd sensor in the board itself.

- H/T+ is the heater positive (First one, closest go the end of the cartridge).
- G is the negative (second ring in the tip).
- Earth is the bottom pin (The one with the earth symbol) and goes to the final contact, which is the entire tip casing.
- The vibration switch goes to SW, it's connected to the tip negative inside the handle.

Ok. So your using the thermal coupler built in the T12 . I understand now. SMD on board is for comparing the ambient temperature and tip temperature for better calibration.

In T12 tips, the tip thermocouple is in series with the heater. When heating, the thermocouple is just a wire. When sensing the heater is just a small resistance (about 8 ohms). Up to the software to determine how often to sense.

Yes, but not critical,a variation of 5-10°C won't change anything in real life.

I don't know what happened here, but your message seems to have passed through a defective space-time wormhole   :D.

I don't know, I see the message correctly, yesterday I was getting many 502 bad gateway errors when trying to access the forum. Today I reconnect and try again.

At the moment I just bought a ksger v 2.1 pcb, the handskit pcb sometimes detects it and sometimes it doesn't, so something happens to it, I tried it connecting directly with 3 cables, it worked for a few seconds and stopped working, ntc error not detected So I just bought another pcb and for what it's worth the ntc of the pcb is 4.7k.

Probably it has a fake stm32, it causes the "cursed" readings, everything freaks out.

Ok, confirmed, it's fake,  :palm: When checking the first time I did not look at the adress, but in the lower text box and seeing 0410 I gave it for good, today when I looked again I saw the adress and this starts with 100, my error, but well, so I have 1 extra welder.

Guess what?, I had a cc3d controller of a drone, Stm32 f103 authentic, it is already working, perfect stability, 0 temperature variation, thank you really, when I collect I will remember your help.

Hi,

I have the same station and have been trying to get the handpiece trigger switch to function.

Looking at the detail in the previous posts, I think my handpiece connector is wired incorrectly.

5pin Board Output Pins:

Pin [1] - SW
Pin [2] - G
Pin [3] - E
Pin [4] - T+
Pin [5] - H

So to wire up the handpiece, the expected inputs would be as follows:

5pin Handle Output Pins:

Pin [1] - Trigger Switch
Pin [2] - Neutral (+ Trigger Switch)
Pin [3] - Earth
Pin [4] - Positive
Pin [5] - empty/unused

However, on my handpiece the (moulded) plug has Pin [1] - empty and Pin [5] populated.

Given the layout of the control board (shown in first post) to get a functioning handpiece, would that mean I need to either:

 a) Buy a new handpiece
 b) Replace the GX12-5 cable connector, to enable switching of wiring to pins 1&5
 c) Remove the existing solder bridge between 'H' & 'T+' and then create a new bridge between 'H' & 'SW'?
I.e. remove the physical link between Pin [5] & Pin [4] on the control board, and create a new link between Pin [5] with Pin [1]

For speed, the 3rd option would seem the most straightforward, but before I take it apart for the 3rd time wonder if someone may be able to double check my logic etc.

Richy.  :-+

Did you try what you wrote and it worked for you?, until now I had only used 2 tips, but when you place several new ones it does not detect them, but with another station ksger v 2.1 scheme it does detect them, so I am at that point of redoing the soldering iron, how did it go for you?
