is it possible to remake this ic?
« on: December 19, 2022, 10:17:49 am »
im been trying out how to remake this ic https://www.digikey.in/en/products/detail/alpha-omega-semiconductor-inc/AOZ1232QI-01/3152689. It is a synchronization ic with stepdown features and many more things. It is taken from a tv set (Sony - KDL32w600a) The tv dosen't work without it. is it possible to remake this ic because it is not avalable anywhere.

You might be able to find a complete replacement module. Just google Sony KDL32w600a parts or something like that.

Check Octopart: https://octopart.com/aoz1232qi-01-alpha+%26+omega+semiconductor-22386093

There might be some sellers that have that part you are looking for in decent price point.

Are you really sure? Take a look again at the link I provided, and expand the "Non-Authorized Stocking Distributors" list.

Then change your location flag to India so people know that you’re not in France.

If you know someone in Europe, or in any other country they are shipping, then just set the shipping address to that person, and ask that person to forward your parcel to you in India.

What do you mean by remake? Make a new IC?
BTW I just checked and Aliexpress allows me to use shipping address in India. Seems it's only Aliexpress app that is banned in India.

no, i mean reverse engineering the chip using buckconverter and some 555 timers and it is a bad thing all chinese online electric shops are banned in my country bcoz of stupid government policies

Using 555 for this is nonsense. All you need is a buck converter module based on IC that has enable input and power good output. Or probably you don't even need those as they may be actually not used in circuit.

If you can receive packages from China at all, I don't see a problem. Your government has no way to know you ordered it from Aliexpress since it will be dispatched by actual seller. As Aliexpress allows shipping to India I assume it's possible to order and receive the part. Worst case you can order to US for example and use mail forwarding service.

According to this Enable input is NC which is not likely as datasheet does not say it has any pull-up built in. But PGOOD output is connected to VCC and LX which is a 100% mistake. Another mistake is that a BST pin is NC but it does not matter for a purpose of using bodge wired buck converter module.

yes, nc pin isn't on datasheet but, when i use a buck converter, they don't need to be used?

You marked pins which must be used as NC. Your reverse engineering has several errors. Depending on how EN and PGOOD pins are used you might only need to connect input, output (after inductor in this circuit) and GND of the module.

i conected pgood to lx because pgood pin is used to ensure if there is an output after stepdown. So, isn't it right?

PGOOD is an output indicating that output voltage is ok. If used, it's usually a signal that power has stabilized and powered circuit can start safely.

How can I reverse engineer when I don't have a photo of the circuit?
