I'm looking for insights regarding the TDS2CM module and whether it is fully compatible with the Tektronix TDS1002 oscilloscope. Some people say it works , while others say it doesnt. On the W140 website they state it is not compatible

https://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/TDS2CM

While the installation manual of the module says it's that it's compatible but the  The electromagnetic (EMI) specifications are not
guaranteed when the module is used in this model

If Tektronix say it's compatible, then I'd say it is, in fact, compatible. :)

AFAIK, the TDS2CMA and TDS2CMAX which work on the TDS1000 scopes are functionally the same as the TDS2CM, just with better EMI shielding, so I don't see a reason why the TDS2CM won't work.

The only functional incompatibility I am aware of is the TDS2MEM module not working with the TDS200 series scopes (which is a shame).

I would try it, I think it would be fine. Let us know how you go and I'll update the Tekwiki page.

I have a TDS1002 with a TDS2MEM Module and posted some information on these in another thread if it's any help.   :)

I just checked my old Tek TDS2012 and it has the TDS2CM/TDS2CMA module fitted according to the UTILITY menu. I think it's the CMA version.

I've only really used it for grabbing screenshots as per the image below using GPIB. Because of the limited resolution of the screen, the screenshots do look fairly grim compared to modern scopes :(

I don't recall seeing any EMI shielding on the PCB in the module but maybe it's hidden on the other side of the circuit board.
