okay, so I've been looking to buy a good multimeter as the current one I've got is a cheap $10 Chinese. and I've found this FLUKE F15B+ for $130 total, and I won't post the link because last time I did the item got deleted or got missing. but I need to know if it's genuine. it says that it's from China, so that's why im questioning it. and if u could recommend me a good multimeter under $100 or at least around $100.

It is genuine (highly likely). But it was made explicitly for the Chinese market. So you will not get a warranty outside of China. You can also get a cal certificate only if you are in China.

Also, it is normally around $90 shipped.

Exactly as ataradov says.

I bought a few 15B's into NZ and they've been great.
Kept one as my personal DMM.

  • Madness, put to good use
From the picture you posted, it looks genuine.  I picked up a 17B+ (an upgrade from the 15B+) from eBay for $120 US, so you may be able to get a better price on the 15B+. The 17B+ has proven to be a well-built capable/reliable/robust meter, with a bit less accuracy and not quite as quick on measurements as Fluke's higher-end meters.  It seems to provide good value for the price and I've been satisfied, using it as a 2nd meter alongside an 87v.

To my knowledge there have never been a fully cloned Flukes. Fluke make genuine meters in Asia for the Asian markets and have done so since the Fluke 19 in the late 90's

and I've found this FLUKE F15B+ for $130 total,
It is not fake, but due to the weak Canadian dollar, taxes, duties, PST, GST, etc, it has climbed in price over the last few years.

An alternative you may want to investigate is

I don't have this meter and have never used it, but for $30 CDN (on sale), and depending on your planned usage, it might be worth checking out. You can always return it if you don't like it.

the reason its kinda pricey is because im buying it from Canada, rather it coming from China, but that also gets me to worry, as u guys say its a fluke meter for the Chinese market, so then why would a guy in Canada be selling them this cheap, unless he's flipping them, or there a fake somehow.

He's flipping them for sure and of course with a margin.  ;)

He could have local stock for some product and drop ship other product from China.
The only way to find out is to contact him.

Have a look at the Fluke 114, 115, 116, 117 series

Maybe for a few dollars more one of them will have the features you need,

and though they are made in China too, I reckon they feel and perform closer to the big dollar Flukes   :-DMM
