Title: Is this LIR2032 dead?
Post by: PeterFW on February 15, 2015, 02:50:35 pm
Hello Folks!
A while back i bought a cheap chinese breakout board, the battery on it was dead though. They put in a old cell to make it "look good".
Not a problem, i was not even mad since the RTC and EEPROM on the board work just fine and it was dirt cheap.

But today i replaced the battery and noticed the old one it is a rechargeable LIR2032.
When measured with the scope i get 60mV that drop to 10mV in about 2-3mS.

Google told me, these things do not have a protection circuit (not much space in there for one) and they are just tiny Li* cells, i know a good bit about Li* cells...
At this voltage the battery is dead and is only good for the trash, am i right? :)

Greetings,
Peter
