Isolation Transformer - which one to get?
(1/1)

Hello:
I would like to hear suggestions. I plan to plug only my scope (Tek 2465B) and bench DMM (Agilent 34401A) to it.
Before this posting I only know about those made by Tripp Lite, used at many hospitals.
Thanks.

If you try to float your scope and meter with an isolation transformer you may get to see one of the Tripp Lites units in a hospital. Search the forums for isolation transformers as this subject comes up almost weekly. The only answer is don't do it.

Thanks for the video link.
I stand corrected on what to plug in -- the power supply I am testing has to be plugged into the transformer, not the test equipment I am using.

Correct! Never float your test equipment, only float the DUT (device under test).
I'm happy we could save your life :)
