| JTAG - Tag Connect doesn't require JTDI? |
| (1/1) |
| roogadget:
http://www.tag-connect.com/tag-connect-pinout-specifications I am using the tag-connect 6 pin and it does not use the JTDI. Can JTAG work without the JTDI input though? I can't find any resources on it |O |
| Jeroen3:
JTAG cannot, but ARM Serial Wire Debug, Microchip ICSP, Silabs C2 or AVR ISP uses a lot less pins and often shares the JTAG pins on the chip. Minimum is 3 pins, ground, clock and data. Often its 4 pins, including Vdd sense (for logic level converters) Or 5, some chips also need RESET. |
| AndyC_772:
Tag-connect is just a cable and connector; you can wire it up however you like. The pinout they're suggesting is for Microchip PIC, which uses a proprietary 6 pin debug interface that's nothing to do with JTAG. |
