How to wire a amp meter to monitor 3 DC motors?

Hi

I need help wiring a dc amp meter to monitor the total amperes of three motors. I have the circuit
working for one motor. But am uncertain what the correct wiring is to monitor 3 motors running
simultaneously. Is it as simple as running the + wire from each motor to the amp meter. I`ve been
looking for circuit diagrams but haven`t found anything.
The current test has the – going direct to the motor and the + goes to the amp meter and then continues
on to the motor.
