Can anyone give a direct download link to a recent version of Lattice Diamond software ?
A Linux build is preferred, however, if you have a Windows one, I'd save that one for the future too.
Lattice guys ask for every piece of information including the underwear color and then still can't enable an account.

Downloading Lattice tools is competitively straight forward.

You will still need to generate a licence file though, For that you have to login from your account and give your systems's mac.

Oh, crap. They offer a limited set of features free of charge but can't supply a binary with this set of features that runs without any key files or free key file itself

The free license supports a documented list of FPGA families. What device do you want to use? I had no trouble at all getting a free license for MachXO2 devices.

That said, if I needed a device with SERDES, I'd use a Xilinx or Intel part because the tools are free.

For technical reasons (confirmation mail never arrives) I don't have one yet and honestly I'm not really willing to keep trying to register there as long as Lattice keeps asking for the purpose of simple community registration a number of questions they must not have answers to (anything above login and pass).

I'm after some of ICE40 parts (ICE40HX*K, ICE40LP*) because there are working open source tools for them which make for a complete toolchain including bitstream generation and I'm after this Lattice Diamond software because I want to compare it against OSS tools / similar Altera/Xilinx software and use it for things OSS tools can't do.

The goal of the licence is to limit the time you can use the software. License is not perpetual, you need to renew it every year or so. So if they decide to discontinue the software for real, they will simply stop issuing new licenses and you won't be able to use the old ones.

The only major vendor that stopped doing that is Intel/Altera. The free thing is just free.

Then this is even worse than I thought it is... I guess I'll have to resort to using black magic to even see what this thing looks like.
