LCD screen pinout
(1/1)
KILLSWITCH:
I pulled this LCD from a PCB and can't find any info on pinouts for an LCD screen like this.
Anyone have info or advice on how to test or power this LCD screen?

Using the diode function on my meter I was able to light up some characters briefly by putting the + lead on one pin, - lead on another then quickly reversing the leads on those pins.
Do LCD screens require some type of voltage pulse or sin wave?
KILLSWITCH:
Let me rephrase my question.
I cant find any information on typical pinouts, voltages or current for LCD displays.

Is there a typical current and voltage for LCD displays as a starting point to try?
mariush:
That's a "dumb" lcd display, just commons and segments.

You need a LCD display controller or a microcontroller with a built in lcd display driver.  These generate the voltages and everything required to properly turn on and off lcd segments

I had this problem ages ago, it looks like one I found, I made a video of how I tested it:

Muttley kindly helped me out by supplying this diagram (see attached)
