Does anyone know of a list of electrical switch types eg transistors, relay, reed I can't seem to eliminate hand/manual switches & buttons from my results. |
| ocset:
Thyristor, Triac, Solid state relay, analog switch, |

Why do you want to eliminate manual buttons? Is it to automate a machine which was previously manually controlled with buttons? For low level signals, analogue switches can be used, but the come with a set of restrictions such as the signal level being switch normally has to range within the analogue switch IC's power rails. http://www.ti.com/lit/sg/slyb125d/slyb125d.pdf https://assets.nexperia.com/documents/data-sheet/74HC_HCT4053.pdf |

It's for a switching circuit. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible. Have two low voltage batteries, when one drains dead I want the low voltage to trigger the switch - which connects up the fresh battery. It's just for a torch, so delay between switching is okay. |

This makes a difference with the best advice. Till then some ideas can be found by searching in google or google images for "low battery backup circuit" or something like that. Just in case your an absolute beginner are you aware you can wire the batteries in parallel for increased current? If this is no advantage in doing so you might want to also mention what exactly your doing. |
