Looking for a Display to Replace a Analog Panel Meter
(1/1)
evglabs:
I've been lurking for a while and watching Dave's videos, so Hi!

I'm new to electronics and as a "first" project, I'm trying to build an ohm meter. I've got the circuit working and the current step I'm trying to do is find a LCD display to emulate an analog panel meter (display a digital needle on a scale).

I've bought a 3.5" 480x320 lcd that uses a RM68140, but I'm getting horrible tearing on it. I've also tried a 7" 800x600 RA8875 but that seemed way to buggy to get working reliably.

I'm not too picky about the specs but preferably the display would be somewhere around 5-7" 480-800 pixels wide and fast enough to draw at 60 fps for around $50. Heck, color depth's not even that important (could even be monochrome!).

The MCU I'm using is a maple mini clone (STM32F1).

Any suggestions for a display? Would I need a more powerful controller?

I'm really new so I may have left out some needed data.

Thanks
