| Looking for help selecting a budget multi-meter. I'm quite overwhelmed. |

The Southwire brand sold at Lowes are popular with the local makers groups were I live. I've used a couple and they seemed well made and accurate. Here's the webpage for them http://www.southwiretools.com/tools/categories/test-and-measurement#multimeters They are most likely a rebranded OEM product. If anyone knows these meters maybe they can tells us who the OEM is. |

I have plenty of multimeters without backlights, it's not a big deal if you have decent lighting. The meter could however do with a nice set of Probemasters probes. I own 3 Uni-T multimeters, I replaced mine with Fluke but Probemasters are the way to go, you will notice the difference. |
