« on: May 18, 2019, 11:58:45 am »
Hi everyone, I'm totally new in electronics!!
Can anyone tell me please how to identificate this two diodes?
Are they the same?
how and where can I find a replacement for those.
thanks
Giovanni

Search Google for SMD diode marking EV
First hit:
https://datasheet.octopart.com/SM6T15CA-STMicroelectronics-datasheet-8321715.pdf

From list: SM6T36A
Confirm with physical measurements

Oh and welcome to the forum.

Further down similar devices but none that are EV marked.

The giant ST logo would be an indication it isn't a littlefuse product....

thanks for your help, and for the welcome, i'm very happy to be part of this blog.
So you say that the only fisichal measuring of the diode will give me the exact diode that I have to choose for replacement?
of course It Will be an unidirectional diode.

Starting from the statement that I thake as Gold what you say:
But how you come at the conclusion that SM6T36A will be the one I need? only looking at the picture?
just a question.

thanks

Physical measurement is just a confirmation that you have found the correct datasheet.

Yes the EV marking tells us what to search for but sometimes we need the package type too and we now know it is the industry standard SMB.
The datasheet tell all.  ;)

Yes of course however the OP is by his own admission totally new to electronics and the nice Littlefuse datasheet offers many examples of how a TVS diode is used unlike the ST datasheet that one can say only offers the bare minimum required for even those with TVS experience.
When you're totally green to electronics you need all the help you can get.  ;)

Nothing personal, but you do sound like you're very fresh to electronics.
If you're interested, I could use your help.
Please look at my post -

Why do you believe the diodes are faulty? What tests have you done on them?

What are you repairing?

It's possible the diodes are not faulty.
