LTspice XVII / IV Crashing everytime I try to run a simulation

So, I've got LTspice XVII and LTspiceIV installed in my PC for some time, I used them daily and they worked great, recently I started using LTspice XVII more and it worked great.
but suddenly now, I downloaded an *.asc from the forum and tried to run a simulation and it didn't work, the software just "stopped responding" and crashed. I taught that the file is just broken so I tried opening an schematic that I made and it opened it great but again I tried to run a simulation and it crashed.
I've tried reinstalling LTspice XVII, didn't help or change any thing.
I've tried removing LTspiceXVII completely using "Revo Uninstaller" and then reinstalling LTspiceXVII but this also didn't fix the problem.
The same problem appears to be on LTspiceIV and LTspiceXVII.
How can I fix it?
Thanks.

Tedious but re-enter the schematic from scratch ? If its not throwing any errors
this and fixes you have already done just about the only choices.

Post the project and let someone else try to sim.....

it doesn't matter what file I ty, I tried creating a new schematic and I just connected a voltage source to a resistor and it still crashed when simulating.

There might be some configuration files not found be the uninstaller. LTspice is a little strange where it puts files when installed on newer windows versions (e.g. Win8.x). This caused a problem with automatic updates because of write protected directories - I don't know if it is solved in the meantime (I still use a older version because of this).

I would try to locate the directories for configuration and similar files and another uninstall with a manual check that all old configs are gone. Also check in the directory where your circuits are - could be a bad config there too. There might also be something in the registery - though I don't know for sure.

Did the program hang and did you have to end it manually or did it just exit?
Did you install anything else that made it crash?
Have look in the windows application log if there is anything helpful.
