M2 connector hole positions

(1/1)

nihial:
Hello,

I have a board where I need to include a M2 connector from amphenol : https://www.mouser.be/datasheet/2/18/Amphenol_CMDTXXXXXX001-4-1157232.pdf

But I'm not sure where to put the mounting holes, the drawing is not explicit enough for me and I can't get an answer from the manufacturer.
My best guess is the 1.75mm cotation on the attached file but it's still a guess, does anyone knows if this is correct ?

Best regards,
nihial

Looking from the side, it appears the pegs (mounting holes) is 9 - 5.7 = 3.3mm from the front. And 5.7mm from the back.
From the front it isn't that clear.  But it does suggest both at centred 10mm from the centre.  So, if the connector is 22mm wide.  Then the mounting holes are at 1mm and 21mm from the left or right edge.

Also note one peg is 0.9mm diameter, the other is 1.4.  SO the gap from the left to smallest peg is 1 - (0.9/2) = 1 - 0.45 = 0.55mm.  And from the right edge to peg = 1 - (1.4/2) = 1 - 0.7 = 0.3mm.

If you're adding this part to your PCB cad package, then as a check, best to print off the layout and check with a real connector.

Hello !

I think I didn't made myslef clear I'm sorry. I was talking about the fixations hole of the M2 board that will be in the connector not the mounting holes of the connector itself.
I attached a picture of the hole position I'm looking for depending on the M2 card length.

Ahh apologies, the image and link you posted was of the connector itself, so I assumed that was the problem.

THe only reference I could find with a quick google was this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2#Form_factors_and_keying

which mentions possible lengths.  If you're designing something to take a board with this form factor - I would just buy one and measure it.

It's a good idea I think I'll do that. Thank you
