Trying to make something and just need to confirm this is how mcclicky switches work. I'm actually embarrassed I couldn't find find a diagram online. Some reason Google didn't dig into forums. All the search terms and I ended up empty handed. Found a write up but made me question myself when the writer states to solder a contact spring to the negative then slaps the positive end of the battery to it. Those wires were purple and yellow...
Is this how it works?

The McClicky is a specific type of switch, but AFAIK, your diagram is correct for most flashlights with a rear click switch. For in depth answers, you should ask on Candlepower forums or Budget Light forums.
