Mcclicky Tailcap Switch - Is this how it works?
« on: July 07, 2023, 07:13:56 am »
Trying to make something and just need to confirm this is how mcclicky switches work. I'm actually embarrassed I couldn't find find a diagram online. Some reason Google didn't dig into forums. All the search terms and I ended up empty handed. Found a write up but made me question myself when the writer states to solder a contact spring to the negative then slaps the positive end of the battery to it. Those wires were purple and yellow...

Is this how it works?

The McClicky is a specific type of switch, but AFAIK, your diagram is correct for most flashlights with a rear click switch. For in depth answers, you should ask on Candlepower forums or Budget Light forums.
