Metallized Polyester Film Capacitors

The capacitor has a DC rating, but neither end is marked +/-   ???

Works either way ??   :-\

A .47micro-F is being used in parallel with a 400V 40A diode in a 125VDC circuit.

These caps are non-polarised, so can be used any way round.
Only caps that use 'special' dielectrics to achieve high capacitances are polarity sensitive - e.g. electrolytic, tantalum, aluminium polymer.

Yes they're non-polarised and note how much larger they are than electrolytics of the same value and voltage rating.
