Part Identification

Help in identifying this part would be greatly appreciated. I found this part in a box of diodes I inherited.  Its internal contacts are separated by about 300-400 µm.  I assume it’s somehow I, V, or R controlled.  If so, how do you test for its properties?   Thanks.

It's a reed switch.

It's meant to be a magnetically operated switch.  I guess the properties you can test would be leakage when open (should be so small it makes it almost impossible to test) and resistance when closed with a magnet plus tempco on that resistance.  In general, I can't see tempco ever being much of a problem.  Reed switches are rated for current but you will have to guess what will be safe from the closed resistance since it isn't marked.
