Hi,
In an effort to convert my car's cluster to an arduino controlled system I have run into a problem reverse engineering the fuel level circuit. On first glance it seems to be a simple series? circuit that measures the voltage drop across the fuel sensor to get the data, however when the circuit is probed, pin 5 (highlighted in green) is connected to ground while pin 6 (highlighted in red) reads a voltage between 1 and 8 volts. The fuel level is read by the PCM by connection at two points (highlighted in blue). If a voltage between 1-8 volts is applied to pin 6 (with the cluster disconnected) the fuel level read by the control module can be manipulated and is directly correlated to the voltage applied. Is there any way I could bypass the cluster to allow for the PCM to read the data in its absence? Perhaps I am likely misinterpreting the circuit as I am new to electrical work. Thanks for the help and any additional wiring diagrams or measurements will be provided as soon as requested.

Lily
