If power supply says output is 20 volts and 8.5 amps. and incoming mains fuse is 4 amps and recifier bridge is 4 amps, is that okey?

I once had it blow up on me, fuse went and rectifier went. So since I had it replaced with 4 amp 600 volt rectifier and some wire for a fuse. Long long time went by, perhaps since 2017 or 2018. Yesterday I opened it up, bought the correct fuse and stuck in there 10 amp 1000 volt rectifier bridge.

is that a laptop psu? If yes then its probably a switch mode psu and if the rectifier is in the primary side ( close to the mains cable) then the rating should be fine since the input voltage is 10 times higher so the current passing is 10 times lower ( not even an amp). in your case the rectifier blew and took with it the fuse too.

your choice of replacement for the rectifier should be good, but make sure you don't put a higher current rated fuse in the primary and should be 4 A ( 3 A would work too of course but the manufacturer would know best so 4A is recommended) .
