| MSO5000 Signal generator question |
| (1/1) |
| adras:
Hey, As I want to play around with some 12V PWM fans, I need a 22khz signal to get them running. Luckily the MSO 5000 series has a 2 channel signal generator. But since a lot of things can go wrong when you're playing around with electronics I was afraid I could kill my precious Oscilloscope. The idea is simple, what if I accidentally hook up 12V+GND to the signal generator probe? Will it survive that? Hope somebody can shed some light on this. |

Some ideas: - use an optocoupler to isolate your signal generator from your fan circuit; here's a discussion with a schematic: https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=507639.0 - use a cheap microcontroller to generate the pwm signal - get one of these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32835541668.html (search for "Signal Generator PWM Pulse Frequency Duty Cycle") |
