My first semi-finished Eagle schematic
« on: June 17, 2015, 08:16:09 pm »
Hi guys. So I have finished a schematic... sort of.

I was wondering if you guys could take a quick look and tell me problems you see. One thing I know is a problem: I need capacitors. I don't know what values, but I'm sure I'll need caps.

Besides that, I have unused parts of my chips (the OR gate especially...)

Also if you have any tips for making the schematic less hideous, please let me know!

And if you want it, here is the .sch: https://www.dropbox.com/s/difl1rijyxb75px/ALU.sch?dl=0

What is the IC on the left?

Those are power connections for all of the ICs.

I need capacitors. I don't know what values, but I'm sure I'll need caps.

0.1uF, one per each IC, next to the Vcc pin.

Also, if you've got, say, a quad OR chip but you're only using one gate, maybe consider using one of those SOT-25 TinyLogic single-gate chips or similar.

I Would label the nets coming out of your busses, cos your gonna get lost eventually and space your busses further apart than the 0.1" grid for the same reason.
Partsbox.io - orangise your parts!

Can I solder that myself? I've never tried SMD soldering.

EDIT: oh yeah, I'm sure I can do that. Thanks for the tips so far guys!

EDIT2: So how's this look?

When I lay those out on the PCB I just need to put the caps next to their respective chips.
