N21FR Multimeter: how to change the battery?
(1/1)

Hi there,
I'm new to a job which requires measuring the temperature and humidity of the environment. I've been given a spot meter (Precision Gold N21FR) to take readings, but just wondering for future reference how I change the battery? The instruction manual says to remove the screws in the cover, but I see no screws! The yellow part I'm assuming is the cover and it is loose around the sides of the monitor (see attached photos) but it doesn't seem to want to come off. Any thoughts much appreciated!

Peel off the yellow cover. Start from the top and just work your way around to remove it from the meter. Once you have the cover off, look at the back of the meter. At the bottom of it, thereshould be a rectangilar or square cover with 1-3 screws holding it in place. Remove the screws and the cover and you should find the battery and fuses for the meter. Cheers.

Yeah, the holster thingies can be tricky to get off until you get the knack for it.

Usually the top or the bottom lip will be smaller than the other one.  On yours, it looks like the top is the smaller one.  Pry back on that top lip of the holster until it stretches enough to pop over the top of the meter.

Installation is the reverse of removal.  :)
