Have anyone successfully done “IR convert” on an Apple device?

I searched a lot and found nothing, it’s a bit strange giving the popularity of Apple products...
My friend bought a new phone and we want to try surgery on the old one.
It must be more difficult than some antique phones we tried, because this one have auto focus and the lens seems not just screwed in.
Have anyone tried a similar thing? Even if not on Apple device, but any one with auto focus.
