Need assistance identifying components

(1/1)

Azapp1976:
Hello EEVblog

This is my very first post on the EEVblog, I am a fairly new electronic hobbyist, I recently picked up some components at a local flea market,
I believe that some of these components are diodes or resistors, however some are 2 band and there are no 2 band resistor calculators or color charts
that I can find. I would like to find out the values of these components.

If anyone could help me identify what these components are by looking at the photographs.

thanks

Hard to be sure without measuring them because they are old/non-standard, but my guess is they're inductors.

WattsThat:
Inductors, not resistors, based on body color and number of value bands. You can see the exposed wire on #3/4/5.

1 & 2 are molded, 3/4/5 are open wound, #6 or “Diode-01” is definitely a blank form for hand wound inductors, typically RF chokes since the values will be in the low micro henry ranges and not usable for much else than RF applications. It was common back in the vacuum tube days to wind your own chokes on carbon comp resistors, similar to what you see in 3/4/5.
