Need for buffer on this circuit?

(1/1)

So in learning electronics I am finding it helpful to take circuits and break them down to see what components are used and what their fucntions are for the application.

My question is on these two circuits shown in the picture. The function of both is exactly the same. They both take 4 pairs of differential signals into an am26c32 which are output to 4 different outputs. These outputs are pwm sort of style signals for rgb led lights such as ws2811 protocol. I'm wondering with the white board the signals are fed through a quad buffer after the diff receiver. Do you feel this would provide any benefit as to without it? Also there is resistor in series on the output of the signal from the buffer, from what I can find through Google searches this seems to be to reduce ringing and/or reflections on the line?

I can't see the buffer making any difference.  The AM26C32 looks like a pretty tough little cookie.
