New 2000W autotransformer, should I disconnect mains earth pin ?

I got a TDGC2-2k from ebay, 0-130V up to 2000VA and I very pleased. However I want to use it as an isolation transformer too, for use on small stuff like computer PSU repair.

So should I disconnect the mains earth wire from the entire unit or just from the output plug ?
wraper:
Why do you think it isolates anything? It should have only one winding, no secondary.
IanB:
As per the previous poster. A variac is not an isolation transformer and cannot be used as such.

However, it can be useful to bring up the voltage slowly on an untested device to check for any malfunctions before applying the full mains voltage.
Zero999:
No, don't remove the earth pin.

If you need to ask such questions, you really shouldn't be playing with this. Please read up more on the different types of transformers, including isolating and auto-transformers, before going any further. Failure to do so, could result in serious injury or death.

Well they should call it an auto-inductor since there's only 1 coil. I thought it was a transformer, especially for the price.
