ESD Protection - where shud it be used

Hi

Am I correct in saying anything that is an input into the microcontroller from the outside world should have some esd protection?

So in my case it's the temperature sensor on the hotend, the microswitches, sd card slot.

Could u suggest an ic for my to use?
