Non-antistatic soldering stations with earthed tip
« on: March 16, 2013, 12:55:56 am »
I'm using Ersa RDS 80 soldering station which has high impedance tip connection to ground. From what I've read in their catalogs, it's not antistatic. On the other hand most descriptions of antistatic soldering irons say that the tip is grounded.

So what else is needed to except grounded tip to have antistatic soldering iron and why would non antistatic soldering iron have grounded tip?
