Replace FX888D with FX951 ?
« on: February 08, 2022, 03:47:27 pm »
Hello, I have an FX888D, I wanted to know if you think reselling it to eventually buy an FX951 is worth it? Or is it spending money for nothing, knowing that it's not a pro use?

What do you also think of the tips for the FX888D that can be purchased on aliexpress, can this damage the device?

Thank you

I think it would be a waste of money and effort to upgrade from an FX888D to an FX951.

The heater and temperature sensor is built into the FX888D pencil so I do not see how a bad tip could damage it except if it did not fit and you forced it.

951 is certainly better if you get a genuine one with genuine cartridges. But I would not buy D version it because of perverted UI.

They are garbage in general. No damage will happen but performance will suck compared to genuine tips.

I think you'd better continue using your existing FX888D. Compared to the high price,  FX951 doesn't really offer anything extraordinary.
