| Not Contact, Self Powered Mains Detection to a uC |

| Docara:
Hi I'm looking to have a reliable non contact and self powered mains detection to a microcontroller. The distance from the available power cable to the microcontroller is about 4m. The only thing I can think of is a something like a CT transformer with a resistor across its output to give a voltage with a Bridge rectifier and Cap thrown in . The maximum amperage available is 16A and around .5A minimum Any thoughts Matt |

CT transformer is measuring current not voltage. You are feeding one wire through center of transformer. #114 No contact mains detector for Arduino & Pi (just 10 components) Ralph S Bacon |
