Voltage level detector with one pulse output
« on: June 30, 2021, 08:03:34 am »
Hi everyone please help me out, I need circuit that at specific (adjustable) input voltage outputs one pulse with adjustable width, but only using basic components (opamp/resistors/capctors/diodes... etc.
Thanks for the help

Input voltage range?  Pulse width? Supply available? Output level & load? Skill level???

Input Voltage  0 to 24
Output level 0 to 24
Pulse width in milliseconds
Supply available 0 to 24
Output current max 500 mA
Skills Binger

Thanks

Can we please see the bigger picture. What project is this circuit being used for?

Use the LM393. One half as a comparator circuit to sense the threshold and the other as a monostable. See figure 35, page 11 of the data sheet, attached to this post, for how to build the monostable.

More information on op-amp monostables, but bear in mind it's better to use a comparator, such as the LM393, which has an open collector output, so the circuit is slightly different.

More information on comparators.

Various comparator circuits.

As you require an output current of 500mA, you'll need another circuit. In this case, Q1's base should go to the output of the monostable circuit.

The specification still needs clarification.

O.P: "... at specific (adjustable) input voltage output ..."

*AT* a voltage isn't practically achievable.   You'd need to implement it as:
'. .. when input voltage crosses a specific (adjustable) threshold, output ...'

You'd also need to specify if the pulse is to be generated when the input is rising, or falling, or both, when it crosses the threshold, which would require different trigger arrangements for Zero999's proposed monostable.

The input is 5v ac
The threshold is 2v
And the output when crossing the threshold

Is that 5VAC RMS, or peak?

You obviously haven't read my previous post properly, including clicking on the links. Please do that and either come up with a rough sketch, or ask specific questions, relating to my previous post. Failing that, count me out, of this thread.
