I wish to have a variable gain to pin 5 for the schematic . With a constant gain it would be a resistor between pin 5 and R4. Would R23 a give a variable gain. Is the schematic correct ?

Yes, that will give a variable gain, but keep the leads to the potentiometer as short as possible.
Could you have make the schematic any more difficult to read? Please use proper op-amp symbols. It makes the circuit much easier to understand.

Thanks hero.
It does confuse me as well. Got the symbol from Digi-Key with the product.
Quick question,
Are all opamp symbol and pin the same ? I guess not, does everyone create their on when working different opamp ?

Op-amp symbols are generally the same and there's a standard pin-out for single, dual and quad op-amp ICs, which is followed by most manufacturers, but always check the data sheet to be sure.
