Ordered DMM hook probe tips, but they're threaded ?

I ordered some Uni-T DMM retractable hook type probes tips off ebay, expecting that they'd slide onto any standard DMM. But they're threaded and take maybe 3/16" or 3-4mm. If the item page said that, I missed it.

Maybe they are for some oscilloscope probes ? Or do people make quality DMM probes with interchangeable tips screwed on ?

For now it's back to the little cheap ones that sell for pennies. The spring-loaded hook end is great, but not they way they fit on probes. I take off the plastic end cap and just run alligator clips back to the DMM
JS:
I have an inexpensive kit of probes where the wires had a female thread on rach end and attachtments had the screw, a red and a black wires and a ton of attachtments, like bananas, alligator, conventional dmm probes, small pointy, lugs, etc. I bought them back in the day when I only had one dmm and no sortage of probes. Recently I've ordered a bunch of connectors and made a bunch of leads using 1mm and 1.5mm electrical high temp silicon wire and some with thin (0.25mm?) "tester leads" silicon wire. I've forgotten about the screw tips but I guess they could come handy as you can't have enough probes...

I have a Simpson 260 Model 7 analog multi-meter, the factory leads are threaded at the base of the metal probe tip, and come with a pair of threaded alligator clips.  It is the first set of leads I have had like that, but if I didn't have the clips I might never have noticed. With all of the thread options it could be an adventure finding a matching set of leads.

Probemaster do this - they use an 8-32 thread for the accessories
e.g. http://probemaster.com/8000-series-test-lead-master-kits/

If the tips are threaded.... You are screwed
