Oscilloscope transformer troubles
« on: May 15, 2020, 08:20:23 pm »
So, I've got this Hm-103 hameg that died on me recently, after checking every components i've found a dead bf199 transistor.
After replacing it i still got no trace so i started cheking some voltages across the board (avoiding the kv rails) and from the tranformer in the 150 ac out (from schematics spec) i get 161,6 ac.
Is it possible an increase of voltage caused by some bad components?
If the 150 ac out is gone can i step down the voltage to get again in specs?

thanks

The nominal transformer secondary voltages are approximate.

A difference of the order you are seeing is not uncommon for a transformer which is not supplying current to a circuit.
Another reason the secondary voltage may be a bit high (even when loaded), is if the ac Mains supply in your area is high.

For these reasons, I would suggest your transformer is OK.

Thats a great news!! now the thing is to find the faulty one.
Connected to that trace i have 2 big 2w resistors that gets proper hot (R630 and R802 on schematics) so i would guess that there's something upstream that doesnt draw enough courrent,am i right?

ok, changed the ac main fuse on 240 ac and now im in spec, still got no trace and the big resistors are still too hot to be touched.
