Oscilloscope view in datasheets
« on: October 22, 2021, 09:57:41 am »
Hi everyone,

Could someone explain me how to read the following Oscilloscope view? I understand what is theV/div and mA/div but I do not understand where is the reference/zero point. The arrows for t=0 represent the reference point? I believe that for t=0 all mesurements are zero, then, after 30ms VIN = 4.5v and after almost 68ms VOUT = 4V. Is that correct?

You can see the small arrows in red that show where the 0 voltage is for that specific channel.
As for the time - it does not matter where the 0 is, because the 0 time depends on where the measurement is triggered.
For your case - the 0 time is the rising edge of Vin (see the arrows in green.)
This picture only serves to show that Vout rises ~37mS after Vin.
Zero time in a scope does not start at the beginning of the screen.

Time starts from where the VIN rises to 5V, before that it's just all off forever, how long it's been off doesn't matter.

.  That took much longer than I thought it would.
