I bought this and it only came with partial instructions. https://imgur.com/a/BjaHghC What is the black at the very bottom with the black know and what looks like a small goal post? Are those rework tips used for desoldering components? I know what the soldering braid is used for. Thanks. Andy |

The goal posts can help you position things, but a set of fine tweezers will get your further. |

The hot air can be used for soldering and desoldering. It helps a ton with SMD. |

It's for lifting ICs off the PCB without damaging traces, you can put a very light lift tension on it and when the solder is molten it pops the IC off. It's probably low quality, you could improve on it making your own handle. |

Thanks. I really like the ability to dial in higher temperatures. I needed to solder some 12 gauge wire and had to dial it up to 480. The instructions had very few typos. I was impressed. |
