Phono output on TV
(1/1)
chagli:
Hello,

I would like to plug a headphone on my TV without disabling the buit-in loudspeakers.

The conventional headphone output doesn't work without disabling the sound so I tried the phono output. Obviously, this output is not designed to drive a headphone because the level was too low.

I thought I could add a small amplifier and then plug the headphone.
But I don't know the voltage level and the output impedance of such an output.

Do you think it will do the job and have you any idea of the specs of this output ?

Thank you !
stj:
phono levels are sort-of standardised.
i think it's 500mV 10k
been a long time since i did audio work, so you may want to double-check that.

Have a look at the circuit in page 12 of https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/MAX9725.pdf
