MOSFET identify / substitute?
« on: April 22, 2022, 12:30:54 pm »
Hi,

I have some stepper motor drivers which were sold as supporting 60V rails. I need more but they are not sold anymore. There is another that uses the same driver chip TMC2160 but has a lower voltage rating. It seems to me the main reason is probably just the choice of output mosfets.

The mosfet used on the 60V version is SMD and labelled 14006NH

The mosfets on the lower rated device are WSP4984 - https://embeddedtronicsblog.wordpress.com/2020/06/24/tmc2160/

Can anyone identify the 14006NH device so I can confirm it's voltage rating and second, could I get some pin compatible suggestions to up-rate the WSP4984 to 60V capable?

60V rating is quite optimistic considering that max voltage for MOSFET is 60V.

Thank you!

Will the fact it's switching inductive loads be related to the VDSS, or is it really just about rail voltage?
