Possible to make a device to auto press phone screen?
« on: May 28, 2017, 02:38:51 pm »
I play this game called tap titans.  The whole point is to continuously tap the screen to upgrade your character.  They have competitions were people get to obscene higher levels then I do putting 1-2 hours a day into the game, I am sure they have jailbroken phones and use cheats to auto tap all day long.  I don't want to cheat but I figure if I make my own device to tap the screen it would not be cheating technically.  My first idea was two of the rubber deals you can use on phone touch screens and some kind of motorized thing however can't figure out how to build it to tap each one.  Is there any other way using electrical components or anything to manipulate the screen to think something it touching it?

One could attach a phone stylus to an RC servo that moves it up and down, connecting the stylus itself with a wire to the base the phone is resting on to make an electrical connection. Using an Arduino (or similar) would allow you to control the RC servo and teach you a bit about how to perform basic motor control - a perfect project for the aspiring beginner, I'd say :)

Arduino and servo seems like overkill. How fast can you tap in that app? How about modifying one of these? Remove the bell, attach a rubber stylus to the clapper?

(If it oscillates too fast, add a bit more mass to the clapper, and/or a longer lever.)

A motor with a multilobed cam on the end of it (made from some material which can be detected as a touch) would be my suggestion. Search images of engine valvetrains for some inspiration.

That was what I first, thanks for your advice.  The tapping needs to be very fast to many any difference, it will take probably 10 maybe more taps per second.  And to be of any use it needs to be about this fast.  Multi lobed seems like a good solution however with this speed the friction would probably lock the rubber pens quickly.

Heck I am even willing to opening the phone and doing some kind of hack to the touchscreen if anything is possible that way.

See if you can use remote control software like Teamviewer & on your PC, electronically click the left mouse button on the screen.
Or, maybe your phone's usb will allow you to connect a mouse & you will be able to tap at speeds the screen's touch sensitivity rate could never reach.

The doorbell mechamism I suggested above seems like a good match for that tapping rate. I would consider it, seriously. (If "seriously" is a category at all in the present context... ;).)

Solution #1: Buy mouse with programmable keys, set 1 key to continuing clicking on hold, hook it up on your phone with OTG
I use this http://m.ebay.com/itm/Combaterwing-CW80-4800-DPI-10Buttons-LED-Mice-Adjustable-USB-Wired-Game-PC-Mouse-/122248309657?var=&hash=item1c76912b99%3Am%3AmlIfpV6GpdpZejqPVxAwr3w&_trkparms=pageci%253A9edaf0ad-4445-11e7-b08a-74dbd18073b9%257Cparentrq%253A533d520215c0ab674aa159f9fffd6aa0%257Ciid%253A1

Solution #2. Download NOX, record a few clicks, play script on max speed for ever. (Disadvantage is that you can't play on phone now), i used mouse with nox :P

"Cheat" : Register your account with email. On tournament day go as high as possible (don't mind about changing level gap).
At the end of the tournament collect your prizes, then close the app and clear all the data. Open the app and restore you account from email. Your char will be 0 lvl with your prizes in bag but you won't be in the higher lvl gap on tbe next tournament. In this way you can always win 1st prize in tournament.

Have fun :P

Is it possible to do this on an iphone.  I have an iphone 6 plus.  I though IOS does not allow anything inside programs, android might be different.  They haven't even released a new jailbreak for ios for like 8 months now, not sure if they ever will be able to again.

Nox is an android emulator on pc, completely different approach.

With programmable mouse you will program it once from pc through it's software and after that you can use it on any platform.
If for example you set one key on fast continuously? clicking on hold, when you hold the button it will send many clicks back 2 back. If your device supports mouse it will work just fine.

This kind of mouse is also very useful when using complicated programs, I have ctrl, shift, esc, back on secondary buttons and it's awesome...

If you can clear app's data then cheat will work (if Devs didn't fixed it yet). You can even uninstall it and reinstall it, I don't know if everything on Apple is backed up automatically and restored back.
It's not a cheat exactly, it's a logical bug because your lvl progress is stored on game server only when you reset lvl for artifacts (i don't remember how they calling it) but items are stored after picking them up, so you pick items but you restore old level progress from their servers.

Some solutions for this exact "problem", no electronics needed whatsoever:

Or:

Even specifically for your game (apparently you are not the only one who cheats at this stupid game):

Just google for "touch screen tapper"  :palm:

Hmm, never thought it would be anything so stupid like that.  Thought it as all with a jailbreak program.  I guess get my 12v case fan and some aluminum foil, lol.

Engineers have a tendency to overthink things.
